Eugène Ysaÿe is one of the most prominent figures in the French-Belgian violin school. His lesser-known 'Sonata for Two Violins' is on the programme. Combining the musical influences of the time, it heralds the impressionism of Claude Debussy. César Franck dedicated his 'Sonata for Violin and Piano' to Ysaÿe as a wedding gift. This programme is performed together by pianist Anika Vavić and conductor and violinist Rémy Ballot.
